Poor styling – If a hair system is poorly styled, it will be immediately obvious to others, and this is one of the worst traits of a hair system. Unfortunately, hair systems are often bulky and do not look like natural hair.

Expensive – Hair systems are an expensive form of hair replacement. Synthetic versions are slightly cheaper than real hair, but do not have the same quality. In addition, accessories and maintenance products are required, adding further expense.

Discomfort – Everyone reacts differently to hair systems. Some people experience irritation or a rash without a hair net underneath and others feel uncomfortable after wearing a hair system for a long period of time. Hair systems also retain the heat from your scalp, so hot weather can cause additional discomfort. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything you can do with a hair system until you can take it off.

Failure – Anyone with a hair system will tell you that their worst nightmare is that it falls off in public. If this happens, it can severely affect your confidence.

Fear of detection – Another fear that many wearers of hair systems have is that someone can tell that their hair is artificial. The density of hair required to cover the netting underneath needs to be quite thick. This can be obvious, especially on someone over 40 who would naturally have hair that is thinning.
